Swissted is an ongoing project by graphic designer mike joyce, owner of stereotype design in New York City. Mike has redesigned vintage punk, hardcore, and indie show fliers into international typographic style posters. Punk rock and Swiss modernism, two movements that have absolutely nothing to do with one another. This is what I mean when I say shake it.
Male Bonding is a three piece out of London appropriately signed to Subpop. Their debut album ‘Nothing Hurts’ brings me back to the music I know and love. While many reviews mention similarities to Jay Mascus, a throw back to the 90′s, and low-fi sounds…that description alone simply rings my bell. Male Bonding has an updated, indie punk rock energy, mixed with wonderfully scrappy melodies. Check out the video for their single “Nothing Hurts” it is well worth it.
