Just when I was feeling oh so uninspired, Valerie Rubinaccio emailed me with a gorgeous submission. Her stunning black and white photos and her geometric landscapes are simply gorgeous. Valerie is a Brooklyn based artist (how did you guess) and in addition to her photography, she makes jewelry and smart totes. Thank you for reminding me why I love blogging. Shake it Valerie!

Fresh. Simple. True. – Susan Sabo Photography
On this Thanksgiving morning, I am grateful for coming across the photography of Susan Sabo on Etsy. All of her photos are original pieces that she prints herself, titles and signs. You can order them in color or black and white, and she does framing too. Every year she donates 10% of her total Etsy sales to shelters & rescues. Happy Thanksgiving, shake it.
Debbie Carlos – Ice Cream Cone
I adore Debbie Carlos Posters. I have been pining over which one I should get for above my sofa. I think I have finally settled on the ice cream cone. With my charcoal sofa, some bright pillows and one giant ice cream cone dry mounted above—that just sounds like a happy space. Shake it Debbie, your work makes me smile.
The Impossible Project Instant Lab
The Impossible Project has done it again. Last year I blogged about their limited edition SX 70 Polaroid camera. Now they have created a device that turns your iPhone pictures into instant film photos. “Even we instant film aficionados take a lot of pictures with our iPhones, so we wanted to find a way to turn those digital iPhone images into true instant photos. Well … we invented it. The Impossible Instant Lab“ I love it when I get to say, shake it like a polaroid picture!
Thanks iheartmies for the awesome link.
Ryan Mcginley – Beautiful Rebels
Photographer Ryan Mcginley created this brilliant video for Edun’s Spring 2012 campaign. Set to the lovely “If I Had A Little Love” by the Majestic Arrows, six species of butterflies decorate the fingers, shoulders and cheekbones of young models. The film is punctuated with key pieces from the collection, such as a hand-crocheted pair of shorts or a laser-cut blouse. “I was interested in how the body could reveal the butterfly,” explains McGinley, “how it could fly out of the models’ mouths, hands or pants in its unfurling glory.” Beautiful. Shake it Ryan.

Polaroid’s Instant Digital – Shake it.
Oh my gosh look what Polaroid launched at a New York trade show last week. Yup, Polaroid’s Z2300 Instant Digital Camera, has an in-built printer that pops out your photos in under a minute! The camera produces 2×3 inch instant digital photos using new ink-free (or ZINK) technology. All I know is I’m still going to say shake it.
Ksubi Kolors Film
Cult Australian label ksubi made this short film to debut their limited edition colored denim, Kolors. The short film is shot with a Phantom Camera by Australian director Daniel Askill to the tune of 1500 frames per second. The film revolves around a slow-motion battle filled with colored smoke, 80s muscle cars, and three color-clad models—how could you not love that? Shake it Ksubi.

Wild Life Prints – And I mean wild.
I let out a little *gasp* when I came across Jeff’s etsy shop. I of course thought I had discovered an amazing unknown artist…well I like him and so does Martha Stewart, Apartment Therapy and People Magazine just to name a few. But none the less I had to post his work in all of it’s glory! Jeff is a stay at home dad who used to shoot landscapes and gardens for magazines and fine-art galleries but had to adapt when he decided to stay at home and care for his daughter June, “June has about 2,000 toys and is constantly creating her own worlds, Lucky us” In Jeff’s words…
“Here you’ll find luxurious archival prints for the most highly-evolved collectors. In this case that includes small children, refined adults, and the occasional gifted orangutang. You’ll also find custom birthday prints for every level on the food chain.”
For $20 you will receive a hand-signed professionally printed archival photograph on luxurious paper that will last a lifetime!.shake it Jeff.
Vintage Camera Night Lights
Tonight I happened upon Jayfish’s Vintage Camera Night lights, I said out loud “YES!” Totally awesome. Jayfish converts old cameras from the 50′s and 60′s into nightlights. What’s cool is that he doesn’t modify cameras if they are in pristine condition, or are rare. He says he would rather those stay usable. The cameras he has chosen are lightweight plastic, produced in huge numbers and easily found for sale at flea markets, garage sales or ebay. Go on and Shake it Jayfish.
Diana F+ Camera – CMYK
So in the 60s an all-plastic camera, the Diana showed up on the market. It was marketed as a novelty item. The next thing ya know it was wildly popular—twisted, haphazard effects, from multiple exposures to light leaks. Exactly like the original, this awesome camera, glorious with it’s neon yellow, blue, and magenta, comes with a classic electronic flash, colored gel filters, an instructional manual, a hardcover photo book, a lens cap, and a secure neck strap. Oh baby shake it.
