Swissted

Swissted is an ongoing project by graphic designer mike joyce, owner of stereotype design in New York City. Mike has redesigned vintage punk, hardcore, and indie show fliers into international typographic style posters. Punk rock and Swiss modernism, two movements that have absolutely nothing to do with one another. This is what I mean when I say shake it.

There is a German blog that I enjoy looking at called Stilsucht. I’m not sure how it ended up in my google reader but none the less I like it. Today I saw these awesome Macbook sleeves and had to learn more. Translation from German to English is rough going but this is what I know…

Freitag (which means Friday) makes indestructible Mac sleeves with a super, swiss zipper normally used for holding down tarps on trucks. They used to just make them in white and yellow, but now they are making them in every custom color you can think of AND you can put whatever number or letters on it. Cool eh? Shake it.

In addition to working for the Yale University Art Gallery, he is a freelance designer with clients like Nike, MTV, and Peguin. “In 2010, Mike Krol was named a Young Gun by the Art Directors Club in New York City. This makes him one of the best creative professionals under the age of 30 – IN THE ENTIRE WORLD. Believe the hype.” Enough said. Shake it.

Design Bridge has developed the name, design and branding of Oggu, the world’s first 100% natural, organic sparkling sodapops. I am absolutely loving the lettering. “The design uses bold, playful, and direct statements about the brand, and are brought to life using different typefaces and languages to reflect the rich, ecclectic European heritage and qualities of the brand and product”. Justin Gabbard Hand Lettering

Justin Gabbard is an illustrator who works out of the East Village in NYC. His work has a natural, light hearted feel to it. Justin has been fortunate enough to work on major advertising campaigns (for companies like Kiehl’s & Microsoft) and is featured in some of the nations top magazines (such as Wired, The New Yorker & Businessweek). In addition to this wonderful hand lettering he has a wonderful illustration portfolio as well. Shake it Justin.
