The Fizz Collection of Pendant lights are handblown by designer Joe Ginsberg for Tempo Luxury Home. The unique pendants are irregular in shape and one of a kind. Each one is faintly colored, subtly seeded, letting light organically move about. “When blowing the glass for the Fizz Collection I tried to replicate the effect of watercolors on paper transitioning from opaque to transparent.” Shake it Joe.

Aura Bedding
I recently came across Aura, a contemporary bed linen line founded by Tracie Ellis. The linens are inspired by faraway places and the colorways are meant to, “recall ancient cultures and quieter times”. I spent years as a buyer of bed linens and home textiles. It is refreshing to find a new line that I love, in a market I wish had more options. I think the Inka Chevron duvet may need to be in my future! Shake it.
We Do Wood – Denmark
Danish cabinetmakers and designers Henrik Thygesen and Sebastian Jørgensen founded We Do Wood in 2006. They began with a series of specially designed kitchens. But a small, and simply designed chair built for Sebastian daughter, who was two at the time, became the basis of their furniture. The line now consists of a dining table, a lounge chair, a dining chair, a shelving system, and a desk with matching chair for their children—all produced using bamboo. In their words…
“We do Wood believe that functionality is the key, and that the product must be able to fit smoothly into people’s everyday lives. We do Wood is furniture created with respect for the environment all the way through. We do Wood is not just about furniture – it is also about attitudes, changes and common sense.” Shake it.
James Plumb Suitcase Chests
Aha! You know how I love vintage beauty with unique, eco-conscious, upcycling. These charming cases can be stacked in various configurations or can be made as single units. It’s wonderful to think about the travels of each piece and yet with James Plumb‘s craftsmanship they are able to take on a second life. Plumb says…
“A selection of old suitcases are housed individually in antiqued steel and wood cases that have been tailor made in Somerset. Each set is unique with the metal framework customized to thesuitcase’s varied dimensions. Every case is carefully and painstakingly repaired and re-purposed – relined in Swedish linen ready to receive their new contents. Stacks of different numbers and different widths are available and can be commissioned.”
And now I get to say—everything that is old is new again. Shake it.

Gräshoppa Lamp
Danish furniture and lighting manufacturer Gubi has reissued the iconic, modernist ‘Grasshopper’ floor lamp designed in 1947 by the Swedish architect and designer Greta Grossman. The slender, elegantly curved steel and aluminium lamp maintains most of its original features and is available in five muted shades such as anthracite grey, warm grey, blue-grey, jet black and vintage red. Shake it.
NottyPooch – Recycled Billboard Banner Awesomeness
Huey and Wah are Notty Pooch and they live in Penang, Malaysia. They make laptop sleeves, storage bins, wallets, and my favorite, planters out of recycled billboard banners. They ship them flat and then you put your own pot in the planter. Water will drain from the stitches and corners. They come with short jute handles but you can always replace them with longer strands if you want to hang them. Of course each piece is unique, and yes, NottyPooch is full of awesomeness. Shake it.
Little Studio
This was one of those days when I simply wasn’t finding anything that thrilled me to blog about. Just when I started getting discouraged I happened upon Little Studio. YES!! Love, love, love it. Marit Lissdaniels and Angelica Utterberg are Little Studio, a company that makes graphic prints, pillowcases, trays, and cutting boards. Happy, colorful designs, triangles (which you know I love) and even some great vintage inspired prints. Shake it Little Studio. Thanks for saving the day!

Paulova Ceramics
Paulova Ceramics are hand made by Paula Lopez-Otero, in San Francisco. I just adore the lovely simplicity of her pieces. Paula says “I prefer all of my pieces to have some sort of contrast in textures, from the exposed raw clay body, to the interior smooth glaze, to the cork…” Light hearted, thoughtful, and sweet. Shake it.

A Vintage Holiday With Danielle Thompson
Hallelujah! This morning I searched the web for the perfect holiday post and I found photographer, blogger, and etsy shop owner Danielle Thompson. Danielle and her two boys live in metro Atlanta, Georgia in a ranch style 3-bedroom home circa 1962. “I always want to create rooms that have a sense of nostalgia and whimsy, that always take you back to a certain time in your past and most of all, rooms that don’t take themselves too seriously” Happy holidays, and let’s shake it this new year!
