One Bicycle by Esclice – Bike Art

As you know sometimes I look at bikes as something to be hung on the wall and admired. This would be one of those times. Esclice, a design brand from Latvia, showed this cycle with a natural oak wood handlebar and a minibar at the London Design Festival. The bike is clean, simple, and uses high quality materials with the goal of creating a pure form of transportation. The One uses a Bridgestone belt drive and crazy cool, white Vittoria tires. shake it.

Portland’s Sizemore Cycles

Custom and bespoke Sizemore bicycles are built in Portland, Oregon by Taylor Sizemore. Each bike is designed to fit not only the riders body, but their individual riding style and intended use. “Approaching the subject with a blank sheet of paper insures full integration and tailoring of your bicycle, creating a seamless machine with defined purpose.” My dream. Shake it Sizemore.

The ThinBike

The ThinBike is an urban bicycle designed to lay almost flush with the wall. ThinBike is a collaboration with bike manufacturer Schindelhauer and Graham Hill, the founder of TreeHugger.com, “I figured that if you could have a system whereby you could fold the bars and pedals then you’d have a much more storable, luggable bike and therefore could more easily incorporate it into a small apartment lifestyle.” Check out the video below, it’s one slim and sexy bike! Shake it.

Bicycle Skirt Garters – Bird Industries

And the next thing you know someone came up with the best idea ever, the Skirt-Garter by Bird Industries. “You don’t have to give up style when you ride your bike. Keep the earth happy, earn your hipster street cred doing track stands and fixie skids, and do it all looking good in a skirt.” Shake it.

Christophe Robillard – Victor Bike – Fixed Concept

Victor bike is a concept bicycle created by montreal based designer Christophe Robillard. The design features a bent tubular (I just like to say tubular) frame that appears to be continuous. The bend is most noticeable in the back wheel, where the ends of the tube eventually connects to the left and right rear axle. Victor is a fixed gear bike with a chain guard, and a front wheel hand brake. It is equipped with reflectors on the back fender and front tube. I suppose that it why it is a concept bike, hand brake, chair guards, fender, and yet fixed. Victor is kinda crazy… beautiful. Shake it.

Property Of Panniers- Cycle and Messenger Bag

Singapore based Property Of has incorporated wax-treated canvas and waterproof tarpaulin with leather detailing to create these Panniers. They come in three colors, coal, brown and orange, with a refined yet utilitarian look. Sold exclusively out of their new Amsterdam flagship store, I am loving this design. While this is a limited addition bag, there has to be another shop with something similar sold in the states… ? But no matter, Property Of is shakin it with this great design.

Bike Lock Ivy – Sono Mocci

Ivy’ by Sono Mocci is one of the shortlisted design entries from more than 3000 participants the ‘seoul cycle design competition 2010‘.why does our bicycle need to be connected to light poles by chains like a criminal in prison? Inspired by nature, the design of this cable wire lock is a mimicry of ivy. it is unified in our daily scene and promotes protection of the environment. It is soft and feels natural. ‘ivy’ is a plug to awaken the relationship between you and society.” I love the concept, and the idea of wrapping it around the frame when you ride. I have to say in Portland I may keep a U-lock in my bag to secure the frame. Those suckers can be heartless here in cycle town. Time to Ride! Shake it.

Yes I Am Precious – A Bike With A Brain – Livestrong

How Does It All Work? Precious’s brain is an on-board device that captures all of his experiences, combined with a cloud-based system that analyzes those experiences. Put this all together and get a bike that’s able to express itself in his own words. He shares his up-to-the-moment thoughts and has a subconscious which allows him to dream about all he’s been through. Take a peek into how his brain functions below… “to fight the biggest douche bag of all, cancer” – Livestrong
