The Very Nice Bike rack by Ballou Projects comes in two versions, a wall mount and floor stand. The wall mount is best for horizontal top tube bikes, and the floor stand will hold just about any bike. Bent plywood / walnut veneer / white powder coated steel hardware. Awesomeness. Shake it Ballou.

Rose/Rain City Fix
Rain/Rose City Fix is a photography project started by Photographer Brenton Salo and Designer Aaron Edge. They decided to put together a book of photographs featuring fixed gear cyclists and their bikes. On a rainy day in January of 2008 they and over 65 Seattle cyclists along with their bikes crammed into a small studio on Capitol Hill for photo shoot…
Brenton and Aaron both felt that Rain City Fix was just the beginning and they soon decided to begin production on a second book featuring cyclists and bikes in Brenton’s hometown of Portland, Oregon. Brenton spent over a year year photographing fixed gear riders in Portland, their bikes, and the city. The photos have been compiled into a book called Rose City Fix.

I love My Bike
I love my bike. I also love this t-shirt I ordered from Brittain and Matt, the authors of a book recently released with the same name – I Love My Bike “The book that we are creating is not about a singular style of bike or type of cycling, but rather about all of us in a grand kinship of bicycles. We want to capture the strength, will power, and grit as well as the creativity, sense of humor, and whimsy of riding a bike.” Shake it guys.
Audi Bike Love
From @AudiUSA together with Renovo, an Audi bicycle with a monocoque hardwood frame and belt drive. The woods for the bicycle frame match the look of Audi vehicle interiors. “Audi is also the first automaker to offer a bicycle, not as a design exercise or a mere rebadging of a commonplace bicycle. Instead, Audi is launching the duo as an embodiment of its core principles of progressive innovation that also blends craftsmanship and styling with performance and technology.” Well there it is in all it’s glory. I do believe I would love to take that beauty out for a little spin. Shake it Audi.
Cycle Sign by Trent Jansen
Australian designer Trent Jansen has recently put the Cycle Sign that was shown at the Seoul Cycle Design Competition 2010 into production. The bicycle reflectors are made from reused road signs. “These road signs come complete with all the characteristics of their previous use, including reflective vinyl labels and the odd evidence of their life by the roadside.” At $13 a pop, they are a great way to not only be safe on the road, but to personalize your ride. Shake it.

Downtown From Behind
With the lens focused on NYC’s bum, Downtown From Behind stands apart from the countless fashion-blogs with it’s unconventional spin on style photography. The site showcases back views of bicycle riders on the streets of lower Manhattan, creating “an environmental portrait for each street and its subject.” Photographer Bridgett Flemming notes…

that Downtown From Behind showcases an eclectic cast of individuals ranging from local architects and designers to stylists, decorators, musicians, artists, hoteliers, chefs—anyone who has an impact on their specific downtown neighborhood, be it through their profession or just by living in the area. Ride on NYC.

ffffixas – Illustrations
Adams Carvalho is a Portugese illustrator who’s latest work is entitled Ffffixas. I think this series is just spectacular. The color palette, the detail, and well, I love artwork of people riding bikes. It is a piece of life captured that makes me happy. Riding my bike sets me free. Shake it Adams.

Cycles Mercier
I’m always shopping for a new bicycle. Most of the time it is dreaming, like walking through the Prada department at Barney’s and standing in front of a dress for a long time. Recently my friend Eli told me to check out Mercier bikes. He said they are good bikes with free shipping. He knows his stuff, so I spent some time on their site today. We have a winner. This is what Mercier says about their cycles,”Lightness, responsiveness, speed, agility, reliability, longevity, durability, value and beauty. All these characteristics should be synthesized and represented in the classic road bicycle.” Let’s ride Mercier. Shake it.

One Bicycle by Esclice – Bike Art
As you know sometimes I look at bikes as something to be hung on the wall and admired. This would be one of those times. Esclice, a design brand from Latvia, showed this cycle with a natural oak wood handlebar and a minibar at the London Design Festival. The bike is clean, simple, and uses high quality materials with the goal of creating a pure form of transportation. The One uses a Bridgestone belt drive and crazy cool, white Vittoria tires. shake it.

Portland’s Sizemore Cycles
Custom and bespoke Sizemore bicycles are built in Portland, Oregon by Taylor Sizemore. Each bike is designed to fit not only the riders body, but their individual riding style and intended use. “Approaching the subject with a blank sheet of paper insures full integration and tailoring of your bicycle, creating a seamless machine with defined purpose.” My dream. Shake it Sizemore.
